Backup data using MSFT Windows Built-In Tools
Backup personal files, File History Microsoft built-in tool(s)
Microsoft Search bar near the Start menu:
Press and release the Windows logo key on the keyboard,
Type backup,
Press and release the Enter key on the keyboard or Click Backup Settings,
If off, Click the bubble “Automatically back up my files”,
May take several hours depending upon System Setup.
Start Menu
Press and release the Windows logo key on the keyboard,
Click the Settings icon (gear icon),
Click Update and Security,
Click Backup,
If off, Click the bubble “Automatically back up my files”,
May take several hours depending upon System Setup.
Shortcut Keys/Hotkeys
Attach the external drive,
Press and hold the windows logo key on the keyboard and press the I key on the keyboard, release both keys on the keyboard,
Click Update and Security,
Click Backup,
NOTE: Click the bubble “Automatically back up my files” to disable, if it is an on demand (one time) backup.
NOTE: May take several hours depending upon System Setup.
